Event Director

Archery GB is seeking an Event Director to provide strategic leadership and end-to-end accountability for the planning, delivery, and close-out of the 2028 European Archery Championships and Continental Qualifying Tournament for the LA28 Olympic Games in Nottingham. Reporting to the Event Board / Steering Group, the postholder will lead the Local Organising Committee and coordinate Archery GB, Nottingham City Council, UK Sport, World Archery Europe, venues, agencies, suppliers, contractors, and volunteers. Responsibilities encompass strategic leadership, program management, governance, assurance, budget oversight, commercial strategy, venue operations, and stakeholder management.

Senior leadership experience in major international or national sports event planning and execution. Proven track record in program management, budget oversight, contract management, and leading multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to manage governance frameworks, risk frameworks, Federation relations, and public funder requirements.
